Nancy C. King
Nancy C. King, 67, of Einink Rd. Clymer, died April 29, 2008 at her home.
She was born April 26, 1942, in Corry, Pa., the daughter of the late Carleton J. and Mildred Button Curtis. Nancy was a graduate of the Corry Area High School Class of 1959. Following graduation she worked at New Processing in Warren, Pa., then for the Unemployment Office of Corry, then for Corry Jamestown Manufacturing. After raising her family, Nancy worked in several area restaurants. She then worked for two years as a cake decorator for Bells Market of Corry and then for Associated Spring-Barns Group of Corry. She was a member of the Abbe Reformed Church and formerly a member of the First United Methodist Church of Corry and Columbus Congregational Church and had sung in several of the church choirs and had taught Sunday school. She was also a former member of the Rainbow Girls, of the Rebekah Lodge of Corry. She had been very active in 4-H and had been a Chautauqua County 4-H Leader for over 30 years. In earlier years of 4-H Nancy was one of four people chosen from Pennsylvania to attend the National 4-H Conference in Washington, D.C. She enjoyed cooking sewing and knitting and crafts, and also her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Harvey King of Clymer, whom she married May 26, 1962; a son, Irvin (wife, Julia) King, of Clymer; six daughters, Milinda (husband, Rick) Bennink, of Clymer, Dr. Valerie (husband Jacob) Wayda Jr. of Conway, Ariz., Eileen (husband, Timothy Ryan) King-Ryan, of Findley Lake, Grace (husband, William) Odell, of Panama, Amy (husband, Nolan) Swanson, of Fredonia, and Molly (husband, Douglas) Hotchkiss, of Clymer; 11 grandchildren, Jordan, Matthew, and Sydney, Bennink all of Clymer, Brandon Wayda, of Conway, Ariz., Rebecca and Hannah King, of Clymer, Kylee and Haley Odell, of Panama, Darien and Carson Swanson, of Fredonia, and Kelsie Jackson of Clymer; three brothers, David (wife, Mary) and Harold (wife, Chubby) Curtis, of Columbus, Pa., and James (wife, Geraldine) Curtis of Stillwater, Okla.; two sisters, Amy (husband, Jack) Pinegar, of Portland, Ore., and Annette (husband, Aronne) Goldkette, of Port Hope, Michigan.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Spencer Ryan on November 16, 2003, and one brother, Leslie Curtis, on October, 13, 2000.
Memorials may be made to a church, or fire department, or a charity of one’s choice.
